§ 8-3. Penalties.
(a)
Petty misdemeanor and misdemeanor. Any person maintaining a nuisance as defined in this chapter, or otherwise violating this chapter, upon the first conviction thereof shall be guilty of a petty misdemeanor, and upon second conviction shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. However, the first and each subsequent conviction of violation of the provisions of sections 8-180, 8-181 or 8-182 shall be a misdemeanor.
(b)
Impoundment. Any animal found to be a nuisance, as defined in this chapter, or found to be violating any provisions of this chapter, may be impounded pursuant to this chapter.
(c)
Other remedies. The provisions of section 1-18 shall also apply to violations of this chapter.
