§ 10-343. Principal person responsible; joint responsibility.

Whenever a person is engaged in any construction or maintenance activity as a general
contractor or principal contractor, it shall be that person's responsibility to see
that none of the provisions of this article are violated by the agents, employees,
subcontractors, or haulers of materials and supplies. If more than one general contractor
or principal contractor is involved in work which contributes to the soiling or littering
of streets, alleys, sidewalks or other public places in the same site or area, they
shall be severally and jointly responsible for compliance with the provisions of this
article and any penalties imposed for violations of this article.
